他們究竟是不是這一波Indie-Electro變身的前導或許不得而知，但Major Lazer絕對是當今Dance Scene最具煽動性的組合之一；當然直至此刻還是會有些人對團名產生問號，而你可以選擇用團員的名字來認識Major Lazer；Diplo & Switch。

Diplo幾乎已經篤定要在舞界名留青史，不管從 Ninja Tune時期至自設廠牌Mad Decent的作品，或是為M.I.A.、Bonde Do Role擔綱專輯製作，都將其對民族音樂節奏與舞池音色的掌控表現地淋漓盡致；而Switch早受Fatboy Slim欽點背書，從Tech-House/Fidget-House一路玩至Dubstep/Bassline/UK Funky，是以，兩人合體的Major Lazer，除了反映人體對節奏舞動的本能，有時候再做什麼分類或許都是多餘。

Since Diplo tore through Luxy in January and left all our heads spinning, he's been touring almost nonstop with his new act MAJOR LAZER, ripping up festivals from Fujirock to Coachella, all on the heels of making the NY Times Top 10 Albums of 2009. MAJOR LAZER consists of the team of DJs Diplo and Switch, who team up with some of the wildest MCs you'll ever see. (Have you ever seen a wild Antiguan with a blond mohawk pull his pants off and jump off a ladder into the open legs of a rather plush female? You will have after 6/30!!!) This bizarre mix of talents is all somehow related to the theme of MAJOR LAZER's debut album "Guns Don't Kill People, Lazers Do", which is about a comic book version of the Jamaican zombie wars of 1984, get it? ....Yeah, of course you do!

Diplo has basically worked with everybody in the world at this point, so we are not surprised that he gets production credit for lead track off Snoop Dogg's new album "That Tree," though he's still most famous for producing almost everything by M.I.A., including the hit "Paper Planes" (#4 on the Billboard Hot 100). After starting off with Miami bass, he moved into Brazilian funk, Baltimore house, Dirty South hip hop and pretty much the whole kitchen sink of dance music. Remix credits are endless, but include Justice, Daft Punk, Lil' Wayne, Radiohead, Missy Elliot, Lil' Jon and Britney Spears to name a few.

Switch meanwhile took his early cues from UK big beat, before going on to become one of the founders of fidget house, a genre of dirty basslines and glitchy effects. He's was also a significant ingredient in M.I.A.'s early sound, has produced Santogold and remixed everyone from Bassment Jaxx and Chemical Brothers to Bjork and Lily Allen.
